Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

What does it take to get a raise?

I asked for a raise multiple times but my manager continuously avoided the conversation. A few months later, I handed in my two-week notice and suddenly he acted surprised. Then offered to get me the raise if I agreed to stay. Seriously? Is this what it takes? Good riddance!

You work for a company that lost $100 million last quarter, owes $1.5 billion next year, and multi-billions in 2026. Not millions but billions. You can’t cut the bottom ranks and still get the job done. They will never cut themselves at the top. So that only leaves cutting from the lowest level managers to the executive team - middle managers. Is that enough to make this company profitable? And if it is, is it enough to pay the debt in 2026? No, they will have to refinance that debt and kick this can down the road but that is only if some lender will refinance this debt. One already “noped out” based on the last quarterly call. They will have to sell off another division and hope they get enough to help pay off some of the 2026 debt. So the question becomes which division and for how much? So this is a long way of saying…. The executive team will get raises, the minion will get peanuts, and you will be way better going to work for another company. If you are rank-and-file employees I wouldn’t expect anything from this company.

Chuck would rather give himself a raise than his employees. Let’s be real.

I stayed hoping things would improve, but now I regret wasting my time. The pay and work/life balance is complete sh-t.

Honestly, Chuck, fack you and this company. None of the employees are proud of working for CommScope. It’s a trash company.

Only the elite have raises.not the minions getting less than 3% merit increases.

This company does not reward hard work.
Don't be fooled!! How many star awards have been issued this year? Bet you it's very low

That's what it takes. Remember pay is negotiated on the front end.

If I were you, moving forward and leave this company if you have new offer! Why? They and HR knew that you have the plan, you are on the layoff list or they are loooking for someone to replace yours! They are buying time and get rid of you soon. Good luck!

There is no incentive in staying.
