Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

So re-leveling = don’t count on inseat promos

Seems to be the main takeaway at least. No incentive to go above and beyond anymore (at least during promo cycles, lol). This company hates you and makes it impossible to even WANT to grow. Meanwhile our competitors actually celebrate their internal talent and encourage in-seat promos. HR having way too much say in business processes as per usual.

Sorry. I am not in Tech. That was said in a town hall, that promotions for performance are no longer a thing??? CTI head's town hall is the new guy from PWC, or someone else.

As per Today’s q&a town hall with CTI head, leveling will start from January

Promotions are for a change in “scope” and not for performance is the rule.

Sad, but true. I have never seen any other company where HR has so much control over the hiring / promotion process - my impression is Citi's D/MDs are sort of afraid of even arguing with them :D Pathetic. We pay their salaries after all.

That's because $hittybank's envied Competitors, JPMC, GS, Morgan Stanley, BofA can afford in-seat promotions and NOT Re-leveling because $hittybank's competitors are profitable, successful and efficient. $hittybank's competitors can afford to pay the higher salaries and bonuses, unlike $hittybank.
