Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Another night without sleep

Anyone else just give up on trying to sleep properly? I’m so burnt out that I can’t even see the point of being rested for work when you’re dragging through the day anyway. Energy doesn’t seem to matter anymore. It’s all the same, just surviving one day at a time.

It’s nice to see I’m not alone. I felt like I was the only one having a bad time.

Not working past their designated shifts? Lol now I know for sure you have no idea what you’re taking about. Best to just stop talking before any further ignorance comes out of your mouth.

What's hard to understand about what I said? Yes, McDonald's managers work double shifts and overtime, but they are not doing it regularly and unpaid like many of us who are considered exempt at Schwab. As people get laid off with no replacements, we are taking over entire workloads of others with no grace when it comes to deadlines. If you consider this whining and complaining, consider yourself lucky that you cannot relate!

You can always spot a privileged because they have no idea the average MacDonalds employee is working harder than anyone at Schwab.

Different type of work, and they are not working past their designated shifts. Different intelligence/skill requirements. You're not much of a critical thinker, are you?

Wah, wah, wah. Must be a millenial or Gen Z'er. More with less is the name of the game and if you can't handle it, go work for MacDonalds. But you won't because you don't want to give up your sweet Schwab salary. You just want to complain that you're expected to work for your money.

Thanks to reorgs and layoffs we have to work essentially free overtime on nights and weekends just to keep up.

I actually used to finish work so late in the evening due to work overload, that I would end up going to bed so late just so I could clear my mind and relax for a couple hours before getting ready for bed. When I would suggest an alternate prioritization strategy for projects' deadlines, my manager insisted on sticking with the original deadlines and "learning time management". Now that I don't work there anymore, I'm trying to relearn how to try to go to bed early again.

Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights are terrible. By Thursday night I'm toast.
