Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

I’ve been with TIS for 19 years, and the culture is deteriorating. This year was the worst after witnessing the "made-up" town hall insincere show. There are a few hardworking, smart individuals, but they won't get anywhere because they are not a part of the "cool gang". VPs are too focused on POWER rather than the right decisions for the org. Always pressure to do more with less. There is nothing wrong with that, but first clean out the orgs where there are HIGH inefficiencies - Lab, OCIO, D&A, BRMs etc., to create room for other growths. I would say 75% of the employees would leave if they had other options. Sad state.

Shocking comment made during the town hall about the "Hire to Fire" approach. It seems that HR is not doing much to address any issues. Previous posts have pointed out that there are director roles with no real responsibilities, often filled by individuals who are "friends" of the VP or GE. It seems like those who play the political game get rewarded, while the hardworking employees are left to carry the load.

I've heard through the grapevine that TIS Ontario is entirely corrupt. There was sourcing scandals and ethical breaches apparently that went very high up to management level that sounded very close to ArriveCan issues that went in front of canadian gov't late last year.

very hush hush, though - just a whole bunch of people fired apparently.

How many ethic / fraud violations is TIS going to have before leadership is challenged and/or held accountable. The outsourcing model at TIS has gotten to the point where it sounds like external partners are fleecing the company and the execs are in on it.

just another case of executives are a different class of employee - and that the rules don't apply to them

TIS Culture is Hire to Fire!!! Have you not heard at the town hall? HR does nothing when they get complaints. If you "Speak Up" you will never get promoted. Only the people who are ready to work 24/7 with no work-life balance have a chance; otherwise, you are on the layoff list.

Bailed on Enbridge and TIS last year, the best part of the new job is I no longer get random teams message from off shore staff with 'Kindly do the needful' and a ticket number.

please try and get out. i was lucky to get a package last feb. got a contract gig in few weeks. thank God no Tata or Infosys at my new place. Also no GE employees so far to bring stupid Agile and BRM BS. i was let go because i questioned Karen about her stupid ideas. stupid VP who didnt know me had to give me the news. so glad i am out. useless and shady managment. spend millions on Tata Cons with no tangible results. Business leaders are also incompetent and not able see the TIS facade.

I don’t think your sentiments apply solely to TIS. Waste and inefficiency across the company, but Sr Leadership seems to be focused on the wrong things. I have zero confidence that it will actually ever improve.

VP’s and Directors are really to blame. They claim everything is great when almost nothing really works — at least not as intended. It’s all an illusion and the ELT continues to fall for it. When everyone else is cutting cost, TIS is wasting big money. We’d be much better off outsourcing app development altogether. When will ELT wake up to the reality of being scammed by TIS for years.

Yeah, the lab is a joke that provides no value. Whenever big shots come to visit the lab, the CIO gets non-lab staff to spend days working in the lab to make it "look" like there is a lot going on. It must be cool working with high-tech stuff and never having to worry about a deliverable while burning someone else's cash.
