In the early 1990s, I read an article about Shrontz being given millions in bonuses if he could bring the stock price up and hold it there for a length of time. The easiest way to do this is to reduce overhead. 30,000 people were laid off from 1993-1995. I remember him giving a presentation in the factory. The IAM factory workers turned their backs at him during his presentation.
