The person starting this rumor is clueless about how the world works.
AMD would need to be paid to take on Intel in its current state. Maybe dangling tens of billions in CHIPS act funding would be the carrot.
Then again, don't expect any positive action from the clown show piling out of the Mini Cooper that's pulled up on Pennsylvania Avenue.
