If we were to lay off all of them the company wouldn't even feel it. What's their point, anyhow?

Just when you think that it can't get worse, middle managers find a way to su-k all the joy from work. Our Omnissa marketing team is riddled with lazy middle managers waiting for retirement. I joined VMW two years ago and it's been totally downhill from there on.
Yup it’s pure business, if you are lucky enough you stay and make some money.
The top is living in a rarefied atmosphere where there is very little oxygen and hence very little gray matter. At the top you have these psychopaths narcissistic ba----ds where it is pure power play. There is very little intelligence. Then the middle has some oxygen and a bit of grey matter and is a buffer between the top and the bottom. It will be hilarious if really the top starts talking to the bottom directly. So the various layers in between just keep the show going and not expose that the emperor has no clothes. Generally the top is run by oligarchs and so it is a network and inner circle chosen by the oligarchs. The security guards are the handlers keeping them on a leash.
VMware is broken beyond repair. They picked the wrong people to do the cuts. Hock is not a software guy. He is not from engineering. He really does not know how to run a big software company. It will take many years to dig out of this hole. Tom Krause looked at this mess and ran to Citrix. The sc-m of the earth held VMware back for decades resting and vesting and making the place toxic and getting rid of all the good people. Now they have been given a free hand to sc--w it more.
r@g00 and his rubber stamping souless woke policies caused this
They have continually cut good long-term people in favor of their management buddies and friends. I am surprised Hock does not notice what is going on. The company will suffer more for it.
Not only that now we have pod leaders. All we did was add another layer of uselessness with people who want to wield power over others. I thought we were skimming the fat. Not adding to it.
