What do you all think about it?

Nothing new, we do it every year.
Literally only used to get rid of people...and the difference between 3 gs 4 monetarily wise is negligible. Ratings won't matter as there won't be a bonus anyway.
Year end self evaluations are a great tool for you as an individual to catalogue accomplishments and plan for what you might want to develop as skills, not primarily for CVS, but for you. Done thoughtfully, they can be leveraged to update resumes and document projects and responsibilities for future endeavors, within or without Woonsocket land.
They are less than helpful to get more money for one’s efforts within CVS. This is because the jackalopes at the top have always insisted on salary awards on a curve, with only so many getting the top dollars, even if by definition of outstanding performance, you should get top dollar.
I admit I am jaded about this org as an ex employee. I left voluntarily last year and have not been disappointed in the compensation structure I have now, which is proportional to results delivered. I wish everyone good health and fortune and remember you are your own best advocate. Insist on the best for yourself!
It's a joke. You could do exactly what you were told and exceed it. They craft goals based on who they want to promote. I know promotions given to people that didn't even do the thing they got promoted for. Did anyone speak up,? No.
Stupid,
waste of time,
excuse for management to not engage with employees,
Has no factor in if you get RIFed
Doesn't change the fact we are just numbers.
Its a useless expense that HR is too lame to suggest stopping
Most employees spend 2 hours or more on which is 2 hours NOT moving the company forward.
Yadda Yadda yadda..
The big irony is we have to do them but we all know they carry ZERO weight in anything.
Complete waste of time and energy. But you must give to Caesar what is Caesar’s
Write how awesome u r to get $5 bonus!!!
