Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Is leadership up to anything these days but more layoffs?

I don’t see any ideas brewing. We all are in the waiting room for layoffs or a chance at a voluntary package.

The AI stuff is complete hype and bullsh-t or at least Dell is incapable of building any of these capabilities in house. Upper management knows it and is pivoting to buy expensive vendor stuff instead of continuing to pretend we can do AI. But that’s where the wisdom stops. They seem to have no plan on how spending tons on vendors = profits. It may be profitable for those in the know who can pull off insider trading without getting caught. The bubble is going to burst and they’ll have to figure out what to do then. Meanwhile AI is a convenient excuse to look good for laying people off instead of looking like they’re failing as long as the charade can keep going for now.

AI tools. That is what is going on in the background. Dell is stating that it is going to help you with these tools but it is really to speed the layoff process.
