Thread regarding CVS layoffs

More cuts today

It never ends. More folks let go from design and engineering teams today. We are being told that it was part of the “original 3,000” and no more cuts are planned at this point. I don’t believe that for a second. This place is an absolute dumpster fire!

Soooooooper Ap!

Delusions of granduer. Pride goth before the fall.

Anyhow. ..not the first person in the company to use that phrase.

I've learned to plan on any IT gig lasting about 3 years. That's the amount of time for the project you were hired for to succeed or fail, or for a reorg to occur. It's also a good time to move on if you intend to get decent wage increases. How's that SuperApp coming along?

More DDAT cuts today. So is this just going to be ongoing? The org is so big. Are the VPs deciding in weekly basis?

I think the saddest part is that there were 2 generations told to go into IT for the job security.

Let's see how fast these project move when it takes 7 to 10 days to get a fix in due to offshoring.

As always with IT. Been there done that. Not saying everyone over there deserves to stay, some people remaining sacrificed the best people to keep their jobs. Then they are complaining they don't want to be there and they couldn't put a sql statement let alone manage an IT Project if they tried.

Looks like layoffs under Tilak through March. Remember they centralized everything IT related under him to cut costs.

For those asking - Yes, this is Tilak’s org. To the person saying nobody should be surprised. You know who was really surprised? The engineers and designers who busted their as--s and worked nights and weekends to get the latest rushed project out the door. The ones who thought they survived the layoffs last month. They were surprised today. This is the thanks they get for their hard work!

Saved the company millions of dollars in fines, vendor costs, and sanctions. Just one person, and they were let go in October. Doesn't matter. Your boss is looking out for themselves. Remember that.

It's not over. I know people who are expecting to be let go. They may even have dates, just aren't communicating it yet.

This is no surprise. This was planned for a long time, it was just a delayed communication. Nobody should be surprised.

I'm so glad to be out of there! It was so liberating and now I can watch the titanic sink from the audience.
