My manager has no respect for after hours or weekends. He expects me and all of my team to be available basically 24/7, which is starting to make me reconsider joining this place. Is this something that is a normal Citrix issue or is this just my manager? It's becoming a real problem.

Sorry to say it, but this is what happens when you don't do any due diligence on a prospective employer. A glance at CSG's Glassdoor page would've revealed the organization has been on its way down since the Citrix acquisition was finalized in 2022. Citrix's best & brightest either left when the sale was in process or were let go in the first round of layoffs. Everything that could be outsourced, has been, and at far worse quality.
Congrats for "starting to reconsider joining this place" -- better late than never. Hopefully, you're also starting to consider looking for another job.
No one is left at Citrix .. employees are doing the jobs of 2-4 people. Not surprising. Only getting worse day by day. Not making america great for anyone.
You're starting to question your decision to work here?
It is not normal and it also should not be normal.
That’s the way it is. It’s expected from the top down. What others have said is true managers are doing it to look busy and show they have value so they don’t get laid off. But they will get laid off anyway as they can’t do as cheap as infosys.
i don't think he's an id--t, it's tough out there and the wants (vs) needs is real in this bad tech environment. I assume he took what ever he could and didn't have options. Nonetheless, I agree with the poster - -- - You will get laid off soon enough if you're manager is "trying" to look busy or making up busy work. TK can see right through that and call foul.
With layoffs being a constant, I’m guessing your manager wants the impression that their team is dedicated similarly it can fly under the radar. Won’t matter, you’ll get laid off anyway. No offense but your an id--t for accepting their job offer.
Unless you're part of an on-call rotation or providing air coverage for 24/7 service - then NO this is not normal. It's your manager! he probably su-ks and doesn't know how to lead and has little to no experience.
