I already got to the point of literally hating my job. The fact that Staples has been falling apart hasn't helped the feeling. But I’ve been with the company for too long, became complacent, and didn’t bother with looking for another job. Now that Staples ‘helped’ me with the decision to finally leave, I actually feel relieved.

May all of the many 1000’s of tenured associates that have been laid off since being bought by SP, especially those impacted over the holidays which is JL and the SLT’s favorite time of year to destroy lives and pad their profits, may all of you continue to find peace and prosperity somewhere better.
I didn't get let go, luckily I left on my own and I've been the happiest I've ever been since leaving and starting at my new company. Some aspects of retail will always be there no matter the company, but MAN I didn't realize just how bad Staples leadership was before I left and started being lead by competent people.
I, like you, was let go after so many years. Decided to get my Bachelor's online now and am doing this full-time. I'm ba----g out classes at a rate of one every two weeks roughly. Once I'm done I plan on getting a real career in finance and not another dead end job working for the machine. Life is MUCH better now, but yes, I needed the kick in the rear to get out of my complacency. Blessing in disguise.
The company su-ks and the people left are sheep walking to the sla-ghter house.
I have yet to come across a laid off staples employee who after finding a new job at another company and settling in, regrets their departure from staples and always reports the grass is greener and they are happier now.
