Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Broken management system

Dell's a mess, plain and simple. Insecure managers, rewarded for groveling, end up walking all over the more skilled and productive employees. There's no oversight, and incompetence is often celebrated. The company's leadership seems totally out of touch, and it’s only getting worse. I think Dell's headed for an inevitable collapse.

if it's that broken, why isn't the natural attrition higher

Cuz the job market is sh-t. Just wait. The top management know AI is over hyped bullsh-t or at least that they’re incapable of executing on it in a meaningful way.

People are going to leave in droves and they’ll hire them back for more.

You should be a part of the PAM team. The directors daughter and daughter in law work under him and are worthless yet untouchable. Majority of the managers have family members they brought in. You are rewarded if you are related no matter how incompetent. It's so unethical but that's just how it is and we all know it.

Absolutely agree with this.. it’s been a nightmare since 2020. It’s like series of wrong decisions with no consequences whatsoever.. right from hiring Chuck and Rola and firing them 2 years later to creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. All they have done in the last 3 years is chant AI and Nvidia repeatedly.
