Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

DNA meeting

KB, since clearly you are reading this.. have some compassion. Yes, companies monitor their employees productivity, that’s not new and we’re not surprised. But, saying “we’ll work 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 hours…. it is what it is” Really? In the same sentence you mention we signed up for a 40 hour week and then say 80 (double) hours “is what it is”. We understand it’s been a while since you’ve been an individual contributor, but imagine how we feel at any state in the US or in India with everything that can be going on - family, personal health, etc.
Thanks for saying you have empathy, but that doesn’t seem like enough. Did you fight for your employees? Stick up for them? Your family is having a hard time and you say it is what it is. You’re right, it is. But where IS the empathy?
What about the people without unlimited r&r? It adds up quickly. We aren’t scheduling our doctor appointments for fun or purposely trying to make it during work hours. But we have kids, elderly family, our own health to worry about and getting any doctor apt can take months so sometimes during the day is the best option.
This is soul crushing to hear and not trying to be dramatic thinking it’s different at other companies, it probably isn’t but shouldn’t you want people in your org/company to boast about how happy they are here with leadership, etc?

If anyone is working under the unlimited PTO "benefit", I urge you to determine what you wish to take on a yearly basis, divide it by four, and take that amount of time off EVERY QUARTER, preferably early in said quarter. That way, if you get booted, you were able to enjoy a decent chunk of what you truly earned under the old system. Yeah, I know some folks like to use a bunch of time at the end of the year, but that mindset will get you hosed now.

Good luck!

The unlimited paid time off is a joke, it's really not unlimited if you are tracking it so closely. Managers are told not to approve unlimited paid time off if it goes over a certain amount. The whole thing is a ruse so that they could wipe off the unpaid leave liability from the books to make the bottom line look like they make more money. Also they don't have to pay you out when they fire you for all the unpaid leave that you haven't taken. Besides if you have to work so many hours a week with no recourse in time off. That work-life balance that they talk so highly about is absolute BS.

Has anyone read sapience’s terms? It says there is no time limit to meet yet Kenny said 8 hours minimum (multiple times) and it’s recorded. Can’t he get in trouble for saying that that is a factor for why people have been/are being let go?

Why don’t you start a class action? I keep seeing it but nobody wants to press the button.

Think about if they are sued... coach will have to give a deposition on how Sapience was used to make decisions. All the weaknesses & gaps will come out. That is going to be painful.

Have you all been seeing the c0vid lawsuits of fired workers - they are getting multimillion payouts!

I would be happy if they fire me for sapience... guaranteed unemployment or class action lawsuit when they do it to enough people wrongly fired. There's employees I'm doing the work of who use mouse clickers and do nothing. Not to mention it does not track proper. Nnot a fair metric when managers willingly ignore it. shame on this website for deleting posts talking about these too.

They are setting themselves up for a class action lawsuit over their treatment of exempt employees. Someone please start it!

The message is you are to be in office 8 hours minimum, even if you have a deployment that night that you’ll take from home.

You are to be on sapience 8 hours minimum. If you have to work from home, you can’t. Just take R&r but oh, they are going to be looking at r&r carefully.

Basically, work over 40 hours and don’t take off. Also, going to India for 2 weeks to get your visa stamped (as many do) is “the price you pay to be an american”. Very human response from KB!

Sorry, can you clarify a little about the message that was communicated? I can see that guidance on the topic is forthcoming but can anyone spell out the message that has not been spread universally?

Recruiters are well aware of the dinosaur methodologies being promoted at the big orange and using it to their advantage to lure away the talent. Better pay, proper expectations for salaried employees, etc. someone got sold a bill of goods and they’re now trying to use scare tactics to enforce a culture that was dying long before Covid.

Still find it hard to believe that KB was the best pick to lead the team. He's only here because he agreed to carry Manhattan's hammer. If any of you thought he was going to improve the org you obviously have never spent any time around him.

BTW, KB hope you stopped bragging around working at JHA it impressed no one.

I was told last year my pay grade 9 now has unlimited vacation, however I am limited to the same amount of days as before - nothing unlimited about it.

The most ridiculous part is if you have a doctor or other appointment, they expect you to make up that time on the same day. You can’t even do it on a different day that same week.

This is NOT the culture at other corp
America companies. We are being laughed at. I have many friends within the industry and they are laughing at us right now.
