Visa won't get rid of Rajat. If the AI hype train crashes they will create a new 2035 strategy then lay off the AI gurus they hired along with a few more PMs before sending us another email about how the market fluctuates and how hard this was for them while they wipe their tears with their bonus money.

I've been noticing developers commit code with genai=yes with no actual copilot/ai code. Just a way to bypass the bs AI metrics. Jokes on them.
Rajat next ...a matter of time watch
LT has lost it specially Rajat with the whole AI scene. Waiting for the day he realises that AI is not doing what he imagined and need people to get work done.
After working in Foster City for 12 years I got laid off 2 months ago, but I was so disheartened with what I was seeing and how my manager was working I started looking at alternatives a month before. Visa is not the place it was, and I'm content that I left, it is not becoming a good place to work with crazy metrics, management by fear, and no prospects. Finding a job is tough, but I am hopeful that I will find a job which values me as a person, not a number. In the meantime my husband is pulling extra shifts, the kids keep
me busy, and I am doing a little work in the local grocery store, but I am so much happier than Visa has made me feel this last year (since Al left really). There is life outside Visa.
I cry in the corner every night thinking about what work i haven't done and more that I have to do the next day. No hikes bad bonus... why
I will just add on on the last post, I have noticed the increase on the workload, but it is manage it.
What definitely changed is that now everyone care about the OKR, not about actually do stuff but to play the numbers.
genAI=yes is a metric? better put that even if you just stare at chatGPT. Are you using GitHub copilot? doesn't matter, make sure to ask random questions to get the number high. New joiner? please commit some useless code or pair program on the first week so that the time for the first commit goes down.
the visa 2030 vision starts on the CEO and ends on the C-Suite, everyone is just playing the numbers and be "yes man" to get their bonus and not be fire.
Even feedback, specially bad feedback, is going off the record. On record only positive and mild observations to not damage anyone.
IMHO, this is not the correct company mindset to go after Mastercard and AMEX..
They aren’t handling it. Rather, the metrics which upper management looks at are being gamed by those who are remaining so that OKRs, annual goals, and bonuses can be met.
I've personally already started looking at alternatives.
