Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I can barely drag myself to work

I have zero motivation with all uncertainty. The atmosphere at work is horrible. People are at their wits’ end. If I had any other opportunity lined up, I would leave.

@1bvt

IYKYK… … ….

Maybe there should be a little more stress over then since all our builds are blowing up and pieces of sh-t. Would hope def met would maybe catch some of this stuff before we put it out and make fools of ourselves

@1luo What's wrong with Def Met? Great group to work in, not stressful at all.

@1owf That's not how it works. Humans are also 'resources' (hr - human resources). You can't just get some equipment and use it outside, so it rusts and starts malfunctioning, and then say 'I am paying for this on time, I demand it work like before'. You can't create a toxic working environment, where people are constantly threatened of being laid off for almost 3 years now, and expect them to perform at 100%.

Also, inflation. There was something like accumulated 30% of inflation where I live, and I only got a 5% raise. Meaning that Intel is paying me 25% less and expects to put the same effort. That's hardly fair. I understand that this is how the world works, but don't say that Intel is playing fair, and people scared of losing their job and performing worse because of that are evil.

Remember it's easier to find a new role while you're still employed. And, if you don't get an offer, learn from it and then keep looking.

Since this is the only job you have that puts bread on the table, it's only fair that you put the effort. At the end of the day, Intel is paying your salary in full and on time. Intel is not paying you to work on the condition that it provides a great future. Intel is paying you for each month of effort you have promised to put in while signing your contract! Stick to your end of the deal like Intel is.

Time heals all wounds. Be patient, better times are ahead, just around the corner. Follow your North Star. Green shoots in the Spring. Summit the mountain next summer.

Relax and enjoy the time you have. When you are at home use 1 or 2 hours a day to prepare interview Q&A and apply for jobs.

RIght now everyone feels the same way (well maybe not the executives who are paid millions) and so it's ok. Everyone gets a pass for the next 2 months to relax and KTBR the minimum required.
