Thread regarding VMware layoffs

How was VMware Explore?

As I am no longer with VMware, just wondering how the event was this year

I've been going to VMworld for over 15 years. This VMware Explore was a ghost town. The show floor for partners didn't even use half the room. It was curtained off. Even the half that was in use had tons of open space. Clearly the partners and ecosystem are going elsewhere because Broadcom doesn't care at all. During the keynote, you could hear a pin drop. No excitement. No energy. When speaker after speaker has to beg you to clap, you know things are bad.

The big slap in the face was when Hock Tan came onstage and had the ba--s to rail against cloud and other solutions as being too expensive while ATT is suing Broadcom due to a 10X price increase.

Dog and Pony show as usual. Waste of money. Balance it through some layoffs next week.
