Fiber to homes and businesses wasn't part of Verizons game plan previously, it was doing everything wireless. So they sold a bunch of states.......they changed their minds on future business strategy so their buying them back. Less customer churn if you have them bundled with cell and fiber to the home.
Ok so VZ sold off the ugly stepsister years ago. Now they want her back.
