Do you think there may be small/medium/large ON Semiconductor layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

The next layoff took place earlier this month. Good luck!
Yup. Just got laid off at Hudson. It’s been fun.
Hudson too. About 90 minutes ago
EFK layoffs have started, never like hearing this kind of news.

Most people in the industry thought that when Hassane took over the CEO position of onsemi, he was getting the company ready to be taken over. He joined Cypress with the "Fabless" idea in 2016, slowly plucked and pruned sites to make the company look attractive. Then bo-m, April 2020 Infineon merger.
He joins onsemi, brings most of his team from Cypress to lead with him, and starts plucking sites again. But this time he's "Fab Lite." He has given a 5 year plan showing he's reducing the company to better "streamline." He has sold almost all of the manufacturing sites already, if I had to guess, he's just stepping up his bi-annual layoffs because everyone else is. Blend it in with other company layoffs so they can direct the blame to the economy.
Is it happening today?
Change won't happen unless we stand together and fight this. Yes, it's industry wide. But, please tell me how flying in a corporate jet spending tens of thousands of dollars is even remotely acceptable when 2400 families are about to be without income. The US is in the middle of an economic meltdown. You might be fine but some of us stand to lose everything. The job market is floundering and I for one am scared that my family is going to hit dire straits sooner than later. So no, I will not calm down.
Calm down.... same decision has been made by competitors NXP and STM. Onsemi is not doing anything different here. This is what happens when people elect stupid politicians who threaten the world with tariffs and create sanctions to downgrade competition instead of investing in innovation.
If you are safe, unionize. It's legal. onsemi is already unionized in some areas. It's a matter of signature count. Ringing the bell at NASDAQ the day after filing with the SEC and 2 days before a mass layoff. You're a class act Hassan. Sick out tomorrow. Make them push it off another day. Stop production for a day. Money is the only thing these people understand.

That's not a slap in the face...
2400 Employees…

What's the scoop with Mt top facility. Any layoffs
No one is safe in Hudson
I’m curious about this lawsuit in Hudson. On what grounds could you possibly sue? Layoffs are legal.
So whats the scoop with Hudson NH lots of word going around about RIF this Thursday at the Silicon Carbide plant there. Are they laying off operator technicians or engineers or managers?
This is the third time we've been through this at Hudson. If we don't get an amazing severance package I think there will be riots.
There have been talks at Hudson about a massive lawsuit.
Hi, i am a very concerned. For the news on Thursday. I cant sleep well and have been experienceing wet bedding due to worrying so much that my wife is sleep on the couch until we get the news so my stress goes down or we know that i need to find new career, as they have been good to me and i had good experience with coustumers and the service of parts
So much speculation. Someone knows exactly what's going on. This wasn't decided on a whim. Those claiming to be from "the project team", come forward. We are all struggling. We have been worried for months. EFK heard last week. Hudson heard this week. Since the inception of the rumors, late February has been the commonality. We know it's happening and economically, this is the worst possible time. I sincerely hope Hassan and his team do the right thing and offer a respectable severance package since 5 weeks pay back in June is NOT financially equivalent now.
Hudson, NH is in dire straits. There’s little SiC demand and they’ve been reducing their output for months now. There has been a lot of consolidation and restructuring in attempts to stop the bleed. Even if they were pumping out 200mm pucks at a comparable volume and yield to 150mm, there’s nobody who wants to buy them right now. Take a look at how Wolfspeed is doing. Any plant that exclusively specializes in SiC growth/wafer fabrication is hurting BAD right now. So as for this 38% rumor I’m not sure if it’s true, but we will see on Thursday I’m hearing.
Why 38% for Hudson? How was this confirmed?
Any news or updates with the Mt. Top facility?
What??? The layoff project team???
I believe it’s someone from the layoff project team not any technology project team.
In my division, there's no project plan changes as of now. Surely some level of cost cutting is expected as per the senior managers, I guess nothing is finalized at this point.
I’m also part of a Project Team, almost all of the projects were halted where I am at, do you have any information since you suggest it’s misinformation?
From someone on the project team, there is a lot misinformation or exaggerations here. No idea where people are coming up with this stuff.
Hudson site will be impacted by 38%.
Scottsdale?!
Anyone know about the Nampa ID location?
UK site might be impacted
Anyone know how many from hudson?
Any news on Bracknell, UK
Hudson, NH is happening on Thursday next week. 100% confirmed
Word is that there will be more discussions within the next 2-3 weeks. Leaves all of us wondering what will happen between now and then.
Any updates for Europe?
No buyout for Fishkill NY plant. Layoffs coming in near future . Numbers and pkg TBD
