Boston Scientific Neuro to Acquire Nalu Medical, more layoffs are coming...closing the Nalu site is a certainty, according to the company's records.
According to a recently laid-off employee, Neuromodulation is outsourcing its R&D, laying off mechanical, electrical, and testing engineers, leaving only a few to support acquisitions. Once those are complete, the rest will be laid off. They're only keeping software engineers, who will eventually be laid off, either outsourced or replaced by AI. Entire headquarters will move to a much smaller building in early 2026......
According to current employees, Neuromodulation gave employees 6-9 months’ notice of the upcoming layoffs by end of 2025, likely in an attempt to keep the number of layoffs below 50 to avoid triggering a WARN notice.
In 2018, the site laid off 289 employees, and since then, the site has laid off employees on and off over the years, most recently layoffs again in 2023, 2024 and "pre-notification" in 2025.

In general it's not looking back, there's always optimalization but no RIF. Hiring freeze for non commercial roles. Company is doing well and headcount is growing slow compared to growth.
Just heard, there will be a big announcement this week for the Irish/Galway facility. A large portion of the clean rooms will be closing and production moving to Pinang. Apparently the announcement will be on Friday. Watch this space!
All the big cheeses are making tons of money and stocks, but laying off people everywhere...think about it

Neuromodulation laid off about 50 employees in Valencia, including R&D NP and Sustaining, PD and project management...this division has been downsized since 2018, more to come...
