This is another reason you should never work a salary position at a union company. Are these layoffs the result of the union negotiations? Of course they are, this was always going to happen. Are the layoffs union first? Nope, it's the salary positions that are facing the brunt of this for a negotiation that they had nothing to do with. To be fair, I have no doubts that this is only the first round, and that multiple more rounds are coming and that those layoffs will affect the union members. On the bright side, this is an excellent opportunity for Boeing to clear the roles of it's DEI hires and promotions.

And how do you know all this? I would assume most Boeing managers are in the dark and haven't been told zip or even know for sure if they are personally at risk of layoff.

Well, this week is gonna suuuuuuuuuuuuuk! 🤣
Even if you aren’t tapped on the shoulder for this layoff, to lose colleagues will still be hard, all they did was do their job.

If you are laid off, keep your chin up, you’ll be okay, look to the future and find your next company that will value your efforts.

The 1st wave will have minimal impact to charleston with only positions such as office admins or similar too impacted. Minimal impact to MTs. 1st wave is looking to have the potential to rock Everett the hardest with minimal impact to IAM personnel. 2nd wave is a little more cloudy, but names have been submitted to skill teams to review. Charleston will be impacted largely on the 2nd wave but per capita the personnel percentage is lower so the actual numbers will still be much lower than pnw reductions. A 3rd round of layoffs are also being reviewed. Good luck everyone.
