Does anyone know if group protection is at risk for more lay offs? Specifically, how at risk are claims examiners?
@1csm Thinking the same. Months ago several people were told their area was being eliminated and are nearing the end of their term. Some in my area have just disappeared suddenly. Now management is also pushing our quotas suddenly, doubtful to attain without comproming other related results criteria. And manangement suddenly taking PTO time, well that's always a clue.
@1cck thinking that they will eliminate more of the departments they have already outsourced??
This company continues to replace long-tenured employees with cheaper foreign labor. I'm sure AI will also join as a reason for layoffs, but any non-client facing positions should prepare to be laid off. Very sad to see for what was once a "one-team" company.
Surveys are meant to remove your bonuses and/or fire you. We're in the middle of silent layoffs. Update your resumes, prepare for unemployment.
Leadership is either poor and all over the map, or scrambling to situate for a Bain takeover. Told remote workers things wouldn't change, now it's RTO - either to encourage resignations or a complete change in what we were told. I'm sure morale is down everywhere.
With regard to question on notification of layoffs...It is done via a group call on Teams. Some are same day notification and that is final day worked, and some employees continue to work until a specified termination date. It depends on the situation.
Do you think EXL takeover will happen towards end of this year... or sooner? I am already shopping for Christmas gifts, because I assume there will be a fall/winter layoff.... is EXL moving faster than that?
Rumor is that trips to India included discussions on what else EXL can take over and own.
Since expense reduction is obviously the goal, why not just offer buyouts to employees to get them to leave? Why pretend that collaboration is needed for workers who have been working alone for so long?
RTO is a way for companies to cut jobs and avoid paying unemployment. If enough people don't quit expect another round of layoffs. If you're still full remote expect to be outsourced within a year or so. Once EXL can do your job with any level of competency you will be replaced.
The RTO mandate doesn't make sense... for so long people were told that the current arrangement was working. Wonder how long this SUDDEN change was planned, and did Bain have anything to do with it?
It’s obvious that they are hoping that more people will quit on their own with the RTO mandate. That way the layoff numbers are not as high. Remote workers should start looking because it makes no sense to have remote workers when most will be at an office. Most work will be outsourced now.
They announced it today. Those who are remote will stay remote. Those hybrid/flex will have to go to the office at least 3x / week.
Are you saying fully remote work may become a thing of the past?
Apparently there was is work arrangement updates in the works….after how many times they’ve been asked and said those weren’t coming and remote work was working. So much for that
Anything to share to help people feel prepared/informed rather than afraid/in the dark?
More layoffs at Lincoln in April 2025. Just keep coming...
Jeez leadership is visiting the outsourcing? For what? Moral? Be interesting to see how bad things will go with outsourcing most of enrollments.
Outsourcing is so bad at this point that leadership needs to go over to their country "for months" at this point
Reorg- is it just management? Are more entry level jobs on the line? Are more "external partnerships" getting the jobs that LFG people used to do?
What can even be left to cut at this point…seems like ever since Di-k Mucci left it went from caring about employees to profits only. Customers have to be noticing changes in quality of service by now.
“Reorganization” announced today 2/27/25 with more job losses yet to be announced.
We just had another round of layoffs on Fri 1/10/25. Senior level leaders. This happened last year around the same time and then a mass layoffs of front line and director level layoffs.
As a customer, it’s clear that they have outsourced all of their customer service agents to India within the last year. As recently as a year ago, anytime I (unfortunately) had to call customer service, I at least got someone with an American accent and who spoke fluent English. Now anytime I call it’s always someone with broken English that I can barely understand on the other end. Lincoln keeps making one stupid business decision after another.
Happy 2025
Was this layoff in claims?
We just went through another round of layoffs last Friday. People were told several months ago though and were supposed to get a severance package too. So it wasn't a surprised and people openly shared if they were being laid off. Like usual, no announcements were shared. My manager told us we will know when we go to look them in Outlook... as if that's an actual helpful response.
Leadership in my area is saying there are no more plans for lay offs but plenty of leadership are leaving for other jobs. I know one leader is taking a major pay cut to have less bullsh-t to deal with due to outsourcing causing major processing issues.
Back in February 2024, it was a group Teams call. HR Rep, third line manager and several individual contributors, not all from the same team.
If your job gets cut, how do you get notified, based on those who have peers who went through this? Is it a group call, same-day notice that your job no longer exists? Or an individual notification?
