Quiet quitting

It's been very quiet on quiet quitting lately. Did all of you suddenly realize that not doing your job properly isn't such a good idea after all and could cost you your employment?

Is it OK to not have a manager for 12 months and just get paid and get the quarterly RSUs? Will they ask me to pay it back? I am scared. I go to office everyday.

Broadcom has shown they have zero metrics for gauging employee's work. That's why they just gave everybody the same bonus, promoted people to the same level, etc.

They can't measure individual success, nor do they even want to. Broadcom is interested in closing entire divisions, not dropping individual contributors.

Quiet quitting won't put anyone in more danger, and working hard won't to keep the job. Broadcom simply isn't evaluating performance at that granular a level. So be a rockstar or a slob. Doesn't matter how good or bad the player is, when it's the whole team they are looking to cut.

It doesn't matter at Broadcom if you work or not. I haven't had a manager in 2 months and just putz around all day.
