The HR department is not there for the employees and is not reachable. Processes drag on unnecessarily, and no help is provided. It is inaccessible to external inquiries, and overall, it is considered the worst department in the company. They work in isolation and carry about themselves. Times are over where you could go to them and get something sorted in a few minutes. Now I have to open a ticket which gets routed to some service centre where the staff have no clue on an in-country human resource regulations. The worst thing is their GenAI, which doesn't understand any inquiry.

Citi HR would not make it at another large company. They’d get laughed at out of the building.
When I started 4 years ago, HR onboarded me but missed a few steps. I made some suggestions and HR asked me if I could come up with an onboarding checklist for them to use. ME... a new employee. Should have been foreshadowing of what was to come and the sorry state of WF at that time.
Most of HR are listed as telecommuters.
I’m really not opposed to coming into the office but every time someone from HR is on a call, they are always working from home. I don’t think Citi has pushed the 3 days in too hard but it’s not great optics to have the enforcer of this not follow the same rules.
101% agreed. I was unfairly targeted and my workday comments by my characterless manager is a proof of their malicious intent. HR DID NoTHING.
Post ID: @mpg+1voYosKV Oh you mean your Spouse the Orange Bl0w Up Doll ?
Post ID: @zhs+1voYosKV Then why do you keep reading such posts??? And for the CitiLovers & Cheerleaders out there, Why are you reading posts on a Site that's specifically for and about Citi complaints, grievances, frustrations, criticisms and anger???
If you wants SNL type of flowery delusional and fantasy island feel good affirmations, go read CEO Insane Jane's and COO Anand's posts on the Sh!ttybank Website!
Tiresomely true.
Yawn. These posts are tiresome.
HR is there to protect Citi not you!
Citi HR, true to their nature, provide little to no help at all to those being let go. Not a surprise by any means. I mean they don’t help you while you’re employed, why would they provide guidance when you are let go. So let’s look at what they offer, let’s look at what they do.
- ) “Here’s the employee handbook”, this is what you get which by the way is riddled with busted links and phone numbers OR links that take you to an FAQ page.
- ) HR chatbot. OK, if we are directed to go use that, why do you need HR then.
- ) No responses to emails. You can find you HR rep and pull up their email address. Why bother offering it if you are not going to respond…..EVER.
- ) Auto canned responses with busted links and\or a general link to a FAQ page that does not answer your questions.
If this is as good as it gets, and it is, then why have them around? Trim them back by 80%. You don’t need to hire an army of HR reps to do steps 1-4 above. So if you want to trim the fat, if you want to get rid of the unnecessary, start there.
How is getting rid of HR a bad thing? What are you possibly going to miss?
An empty desk will provide you with the same amount of help you get from them.
So again, what are you going to miss by letting them go? If it turns out you need more HR, then outsource them. Utilize temp HR agencies as needed. There’s no way it could be worse than what we have right now.
I’m looking at a styrofoam cup right this second that can provide me more assistance than what I’ve been given by Citi HR. At least the cup in itself by its very design and function provides use of holding liquid. It has a purpose, a use. I can’t say the same about HR though.
Show me on the doll where HR hurt you
