Sure.. it's cheaper to hire one bonehead to manage multiple branches than it is to have one manager at each location.. Plus the bonus is, there's only a few employees at each location. At the branch I was at (in the branch glory days) we had 9 employees. Now there are TWO. Those remaining two employees really need to freshen-up their skills and resumes for the new job-market. I feel bad for them, they are going to be royally sc--wed when "they" finally decide to close the location. The writing on the wall has been pretty evident for years... cutting the profit sharing + heavy emphasis on grainger.com. What do these people expect is going to happen????? I would strongly advise AGAINST any person taking a position at this evil empire.

Yup, already started. Everyone has to learn how to perform each other's job duties to, "fill the void during call outs". Basically, they are headed towards a "one position" company (as far as the bottom totem pole goes). Metric goals have changed to lines per order vs. profit for order. If you have 12 lines, selling $0.79 a line vs. 2 lines at $50 a line, you still won't hit your metrics though you make the company more money. We ONLY GET 1 CHANCE at A RAISE PER YEAR. With this they won't profit and have more reason to not give out their 2% raises out...... This place su-ks.
