Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

So layoffs all the time?

Have they ever stopped to think how that would affect the company? Results, productivity, morale? If there are more massive layoffs coming over the next two years, conducted in the same manner as this wave, we would be pretty much done. There’s no way in he-l you can keep company together under such a regime.

"Shut up and do your job before you get pizza partied" on this topic, can someone explain to me the uniquely Dell phenomenon of the pizza-party-of-doom? Is it because they are literally unaware of how obvious it is?

They will use their "AI" to do human jobs. Skynet will be using Dell hardware.

the input ports on my new Dell laptop are already failing. Sometimes I can't even use a docking station.

I also work at Dell and would never purchase one of our products, I can barely stand using my work laptop. I'm just here for a paycheck.

"I would bet the thousands that have been laid off will never be a Dell customer"

I think the ELT was feeling proud of themselves for being tough. "Look what a strong leader I am" Then they left the tough part of delivering bad news and managing fallout to the lower level managers.

SuperMicro was held as a comparable company with super low overhead that we need to meet. We'll look at them now. Turns out having some overhead keeps your org from making shady decisions that can ki-l your business. ...And their margins su-k.

I would bet the thousands that have been laid off will never be a Dell customer or buy any known Dell product. If they keep this up they might be alienating a pretty big population!

It’s all about revenue/profit per head for the shareholder report.

Nothing else matters more than that.
