in 2025 the banking industry might see a ton of layoffs, that's my 2c... there are a few reasons why this could happen:
- tech is changing crazy fast, and banks are using more ai, machine learning, software and automation to do things that people used to do. things are automated more, more apps etc and less need for human help. there you have it.
- banks are trying to save money cutting expenses - tight budgets, cost cutting
- "fintech" companies are pressuring things - traditional businesses and banks are losing profits becase of them
- branches closing due to customer preferences - this is to be expected - this is 2024 after all - people got used to this during covid and there is no going back. our business has a physical side and this reflects it.
I am sure I am missing a thing or two but there you have it.
