Anyone know why this job was listed with only 1 day between first posting and application closing date? Does that mean they already have a candidate selected?

For the managers that posted a person is already lined up, why post the job? Many P66 jobs are not posted which are filled by head hunters such as senior and exec roles.
@disciple of doom, if those two svengalies are steering the SS Phillips 66, it's time to put on your life jackets and head for the life boats. One is as inspiring as a wet f@rt in a pair of white pants and the other a svengali leaving a trail of empty promises.
Both suffer from the Dunning Kruger: The Smarter You Feel, the D-mber You Are.
The solution to all of P66's problems is investing in its people and assets. It used to have a group of talented, hard working people. The assets were maintained enough to avoid catastrophe, but not enough to deliver long term gains.
MH is running and the ELT can’t keep up to ensure he is actually leading us in the right direction. Make no mistake, MH and ZG run this company.

I don’t work in trading or with trading. I can’t speak to what they are doing.
Just clarifying that if an external job posting posts for one day, and gives no chance for the vast majority of people to apply - that happens when someone has already been selected.
I can’t speak to whether any of it makes sense for that job.
@brg+1vlOxAjr MH wants to be Vitol without Vitol compensation . The question is whether he came up with this genius idea himself or the consultants infected him with it. Just another example of the magical thinking from P66 execs.
Would expect a lot of churn in Commercial in years to come. MH has in mind to become a trading organization. Not sure he knows what he is asking for.
