TELUS laysoff 2100 employees in Barcelona SPain, May 2025
In summer 2024 President said they were done with layoffs shifting to growth rather than contraction through layoffs, then they quietly kept laying off people every month. In the first 2 weeks the gentleman who advocated to bring me on board by changing the salary band in my role, left... I was laid off without any consideration to the investment made in me and how strong I was in their investing into personality testing which I came across as very, very strong. Yet they keep advertising roles without looking in their own pool. They have also re posted roles as if there were new roles. I don't know how many have been quietly laid off but I know in Canada alone it was significant. I am left wondering why they wouldn't look at each person's file that they're looking at laying off and re-assigning them.
They are not the only company doing this. Bottom line: be wary if people keep getting let go each month as part of re-org
