4 women returning or on maternity leave ISP that I know of. One pregnant due in December also ISP. What percent of intel is women? (Google says 28 percent) and what percent of women were pregnant / returning from maternity leave during this wave? Seems like a high number to me… someone should look into this

Throwing bones to the lurking jackals is no way to be.
What do they do, like job titles? Maybe their roles are not needed anymore? It could be, if somebody is on long leaves for any reasons, and their group can continue with their work without them, then their work can be done by others or not needed.
The Supreme Court threw out reverse discrimination / race base admissions for college two years ago... Companies are now dismantling DEI programs. It was kind of sad to see how fast Intel adopted DEI when the core culture was based on the exact opposite -- meritocracy.
FYI: When somebody who isn't a white male gets laid off, that doesn't automatically mean discrimination.
They certainly would have been among the best and brightest. There's no way Intel would have lowered standards to hire them in the first place.
It will be easy for them to hide…they don’t have to disclose this information. Also intels policy is to tell people when they come back from leave so im sure many on maternity leave do not know yet that they have been impacted and will find out in the next few months. So it will be staggering. OP has a point if they know of 4 people already that means it’s 4 people that have had babies in the same month or are currently pregnant.
That number seems high
Were any pregnant women or new mothers on maternity leave not impacted by ISP? If there were others who weren't impacted then it will be a tough case to prove. It is like proving age discrimination. Happens all the time in the job market but prove it.
I hear you. Not easy, for sure. On the other end of the spectrum, my kids are grown, and a source of pride now. I’m planning my retirement in the near future. We could all use some economic juice and positivity right now
You would have to provide evidence that the layoff was due to pregnancy.
For the haters: women are capable of working and raising children, I know, shocking. Paternity leave is common sense in the civilized world.
The real question about it is in regards to nationality. How many foreign based employees vs Americans. You can no discriminate against someone’s nationality but that works both ways. You can not discriminate against Americans just like you can’t for Indians or Chinese etc.
Google and twitter have class action lawsuits against this. Intel is no different if you know them tell them to lawyer up
Maybe try to form a coherent sentence, mmmmmkay?
In my group, 10 men vsp/isp. One woman vsp. One of the isp'd men was on bonding leave. Sounds lke discrimination against men. Someone should look into this.
I think what the poster means is same with age discrimination if it’s seen in large numbers it could be seen as intentional. That does seem to be a high number if half of the 15,000 were ISP and 28 percent of that were women that’s 4/2100 that they personally know of which seems high.
Huh?
