Thoughts? Any Canon layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

@1fvr Or an outhouse.
PK's accomplishments? Tanked morale. Micromanagement. Silent quotas. Fluidity lists. He couldn't manage a lemonade stand.
As of this post, there hasn't been any layoff announcements. Looks like some trolls need to post based on facts, not rumors. Guaranteed if anyone got a pink slip, there'd be a post. Just saying, from the perspective of an outsider looking in. But I agree on one point: the company definitely took a PR hit with laying people off, especially after the sweetheart deal Canon got from a county agency in the form of tax breaks. The whole thing stinks 🦨 worse than a fa-t. Corruption. Wonder how many Long Island politicians got under the table payola from Canon via Japan. Guess we'll never know.
Numbers are still way down and the concept of being all ONE is hilarious. More segregation and turmoil than ever between all the former groups. Everyone fighting to prove who knows best. You see it in these posts each division blaming others. Instead of working towards the future it's all precovid fantasy. We have so many layers of overpaid upper management and hardly any workers. We're so short handed everything is falling apart, moral at all time low. Company image is in the toilet. Seems the plan is to drive staff to quit, trying to prevent more negative press from layoffs.
So this is all just guesses? No actual real incite from someone in HR or at the company? Stop it we are under enough stress we don't need "guesses" we need facts
Most likely Q1 or Q2. Once CSA/CUSA merge is 100% complete expect another big wave of layoffs. Not as large as 2024 but still devastating.
We did have our Town hall the other day and they said once we become one they will be reviewing positions and job duties and we will be eliminating duplicate rolls. We will be combiniding departments. Unlike now, we bought out Oce yrs ago and are still run as 2 separate companies, seperate sales, separate marketing etc they will all become one.
PK may be the tip of the iceberg, but FM and his little crew in BOCA of SB and KR in PPS are on the chopping block. My understanding is that Japan has had enough of the excuses they are making with all the OCE factory blah blah and taking control back to HQ in japan.
two more months and the nay sayers can then start their crying.
obviously, this thread has struck a nerve with someone. While you may find this chat comical, I have to remind you that Canon has publicly announced that Canon USA will be dissolving their subsidiary Canon Solutions America. Now, if you take time to read the quietly report, that are also publicly published its very pointed that the company wants to get back to 2019 revenue and profitability. So, you don't just announce the dissolving of a fully owned subsidiary for no reason. The outcome is obvious for its future growth plans and right now the cost cutting has to come into line with 2019 and duplicate fixed costs have to go.
I think it's comical that chatterbots state a company's affairs without understanding its future growth goals. The first reply is that what you heard is all wrong. So, if I were you, I would fire the person telling you false narratives. The second reply about PK is: Do you know the man, and what have his accomplishments been throughout his tenure? No, you don't, so your answer is wasteful. The third reply is a joke.
It's interesting, that jobs that are being posted are of people that have recently left and some of the ones that were let go in July. With that said, the CUSA marketing and CSA marketing i hear are fighting it out. I also heard, and this is totally second/third hand that Melville will inherit the PPS professional services organization and management will be moved from Florida to NY. Sounds like CUSA wants to start picking up people from Konica and Ricoh. Again, this is all rumor, I'm retired and only hear the chatter.
Hopefully it will be the overpaid PK and the some of his followers who think the money he spend actually helped the sales team sell.
Yes a bunch
