We’ll never have expenses under control as EL spends like money doesn’t mean anything. Currently, several floors are being refurbished at HQ because there isn’t enough seats for RTO. In addition, Truist is going back to a building it exited because HQ is unable to have enough seats even after refurbishing. There was also a lost here earlier about 3 new jets? And the constant travel and offsite meetings and events (hello board of directors!).

HQ is getting upgraded offices while us peons that do the real work have moldy carpet, outdated equipment and nasty air quality. Folks with respiratory issues are coughing and hacking all day from the mold and air in our building.
Are you sure about the reasoning - could the new aircraft be more efficient - could they have gotten a sweetheart deal that saves money
Guessing one has no real knowledge of the situation in addition to nothing about layoffs
Living rent free is working - keep up the great work
Correct, BillyBob decided he needed three new jets so he could fly to Europe nonstop. The cost for the three planes was $70 million.
The bank already had three nice planes, one was only about 4 years old. Replacing them is nothing but a joke. BillyBob trying hard to be important.
Jets, consultants, bonuses (for themselves), and office renovations are ELs favorite things to spend on. 20+ mil alone to refurb Truist Center for RTO
Speaking of layoffs, since we have a governor out there pointing out “not a layoff comment”, can we layoff the phrase “living rent free in your head”? It was clever about 5 years ago.
There. How’s that for irrelevant?
Let’s see many companies downsized office foot prints - now lots bringing staff back so adjusting office space needs
Might help avoid a real estate bubble in the US if lots of employers bring people back - however no sense worrying about all the small businesses that benefit from people working in an office
Must be living rent free in someone’s head
Expenses being under control never pertains to EL (look at the millions in bonuses they just awarded to two members); it only affects all of us that keep the bank running. I always laugh when all of us rank and file don’t get raises due to expense control but executives never go without their “perks”. Think about how many jobs could have been saved If the executives all took a measly 1% reduction in total comp.
