what sort of severance are they offering?
@16fj True
What was the criteria used to determine whom would be laid off?
@16fj Woww! What other departments were impacted? I thought there IT is all vendors?
Heard that there were a few IT layoffs today. Folks attended a 30 min meeting then told that HR would be sending them information on post-layoff benefits
Just saw the replacement workers, ah man... It looks like traffic control: tatted up, greedy, stinky creeps that were smoking while working with gas. I feel so sorry for anyone who actually liked this company.
It's always been just another construction company. They laid off all the contractors and are now hiring on illegals and felons from prison-to-work programs as they're dirt cheap. Reminds me of the end of meter reading to be honest.
@wfs were you a contractor?
I was laid off as of May, 2025 had a meeting with HR and they let everyone in the meeting go. Feeling really broken, as this was my dream company
They are announcing layoffs today at noon. My son just let us know.
So Cal gas has pretty much laid off all contractors. Also some long-term employees. Employees who have lost their positions are scrambling to apply for positions that are now open due to contractor layouts.
Scott?
What jobs are they targeting to layoff?
Will SoCal Gas be doing Layoffs as well?
What is distribution management?
Socalgas will be laying off 29 distribution management position by end of today.
They have been cutting contractors left and right and aren't hiring for much needed positions.
Money just rolls in because there is no competition and we have a product everyone needs.
