How likely is that there will be Caterpillar layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

@1exn
Folks in bldg AC have been let go
Layoffs and packages are happening now. Restructuring of reports is being communicated this week.
@9jg High level Senior Managers and Directors are allowed to work remote or from Downtown offices and rarely engage in person with their teams forced to work in offices 5 days per week.
@t9p Resource Industries is promoting managers while getting rid of skilled workers. Caterpillar has about ten times the amount of Vice Presidents then compared to their competitors.
@q0w PSLD
PSLD is eliminating management roles and downgrading people. I know of a few notified today but haven’t heard if it’s widespread.
Agree with others here. 5-day RTO mandate is to thin out the heard, then they’ll cut T&E and all consultants and agency, then cut heads. Any guesses on where they’ll be targeting first?
Well with 5 day RTO just announced, guess we'll see.
I know they've been worried about parts sales this year.
You are now getting the borg queen of layoffs - enjoy
PSLD started laying of workers on Friday, hearing numbers like 750 but can’t find anything on-line to confirm
Think they are also going to be hard on ppl during reviews/performance and have that a way to “layoff” so the person gets fired or voluntarily leaves. Companies are using that as a way more than ever now to not “layoff” and spook investors.
5 days in the office will come first to save money.
Forcing 3 days in the office, 5 days for Resource Industries. Appears to be trying to force people to leave voluntarily (no severance) before the layoff comes.
Much chatter. Rumor is 200 in February and 200 in March/April. We’re over 400+ employees past capacity for machines, in Pontiac. We also went through the “restructure” or RIF.
Highly likely. Anytime there is a "reorganization" it comes with a reduction in workforce.
