Sadly, I was part of the 15% GSM RIF yesterday in the AMEC region. NXP has nothing left to bleed for its salesforce & FAE's. This latest round of layoff will result in employee churn due to burnout and a whole new set of hiring in 2026 after cr-p 2025 revenue results. NXP keeps shooting itself in the same foot and reusing the bullet- they never do a post-mortem and learn from the mistakes and apply real strategy to any RIF/Re-org.

Layoff is expected to be done by the end of January at most location.

Low-single-digit percent reduction of overall workforce ongoing. Voluntary severances first, then involuntary actions. Projected to be completed in February.

Layoff is coming this month, but not sure exactly when.
Second year in a row that they are asking older employees to leave and laying off staffs.
They are hiring interns to do work to save money.
This doesn't look like growth. If you hold their stocks, you might want to sell and find better investments.

He will double the workforce in India thinking that he can replace engineers in the US with them. Someone must tell NXP board that they tried that thousands of times and failed, maybe you can have 3 or 4 engineers in India for 1 in US, but there is a reason why you pay engineers in the US much more and they will realize it sooner than later when other companies steal their customers and businesses due to a decrease in quality and performance

We’ll know more in the coming weeks but there will definitely be downsizing globally. This is a surprise (or not really) considering the CEO just said 2 months ago that he plans to double the workforce in India.

First step was implemented. Voluntary separation of old workers now. Same old workers fired in January I guess.

Yes, January 2025 for the US. Some teams double digit percent. Asia in February and Europe later. Not looking good.

Will this layoff still happen? And in the US as well? It is hard to believe that the US government will not get involved specially if it is a semiconductor company that have locations around the country and protect american assets including engineers with that kind of knowledge

Yes, another wave of layoffs coming and based on what the engineers working there are saying, they were already told by their management but didt specify how many. It does shows that NXP does not care about their employees at all
