Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Turnaround stories no longer have any meaning

Remember the scene in the book “Only the Paranoid Survive” where Gordon Moore and Andy Grove are wondering what to do with the DRAM business and they decide to do a “under new management” thought experiment? They walk out their door Intel’s old management and walk in the door Intel’s “new” management and look at the DRAM business with fresh eyes… and exit it.

Pat will never do this exercise
But you can and I have. I’m not leaving Intel … today …. But turn-around stories no longer have any meaning for me. I’m just going to plan my life and do my job and let Intel sign my paychecks. For now. Maybe they’ll stop doing that sooner or later. But I just work here. Turnaround dramas are for someone else.

I fired my manager and hired a good one at another company.

You are in control of your own destiny.
I recommend making your own management changes.
