Wasted money like all the failed solar investments... There is plenty of capital for good projects so the gov't grief needs to stop. Ironic how Intel complained the most about Sematech back in the 80s.... That failed too.

Protectionism never cultivates great companies. The public money is better spent to incubate more home grown competitors in high end foundry business and award the winner handsomely.
