Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Cost reduction all the way

Have been increasingly challenging to find drinking water in my department after they took off the water machines and replaced it with empty water dispensers. Where are we going?

Oh my god.
You don't get a water cooler to stand around and talk at?
Some office workers would freak.

The Q is just a sweatshop now. Actually, QCT always has been.

Next to go will be those coffee machines with fancy display.

Yep, scratch free coffee. How else can they afford to keep the yearly Tech Summit boondoggle in Maui for all the fat cats to enjoy? Come on man, priority must be set and some items may have to be eliminated! Just that simple...

Read news that Intel no longer offer free coffee. Is Q going down this path?

Adding to the previous comment, the 1$ taco festival in lawn N last week was just the beginning.

Required a credit card (or a mobile phone finance app) to use the toilets and/or toilet paper is next.

Yeah, the only healthy thing they offered in office was the water machine, was very upset when they took it out! I guess it's time for me to leave....

so why force RTO if they can’t handle very basic operating costs

Obviosity, layoffs alone are too slow and not getting them where they want to be, so they are turning to attrition to speed things along. If drinking water doesn't do the trick, next on the list are heating/cooling, toilet paper, lighting...

CA has christened this as project "Big Freeze."
