- a "Yes" vote. Although no pension or 40%...but members didn't save(as they were told to save) so they are struggling to continue...
Company just got 21B..so they can continue the fight 21 months
Company just got 21B..so they can continue the fight 21 months
I predict...
Whichever contract the IAM votes in (this one or a subsequent one with a pension) Boeing is playing you.
The contract you accept will say (paraphrasing) the next new aircraft will be built in Puget Sound if launched in the next 4 years. (i.e. the life of this contract).
Boeing has no money, none, ZERO. So, it is unlikely a new model will be announced in the next 4 years. (Remember, they already said it will be 20 years (about 2 years ago) because they are waiting on the next advancement in engineering efficiency.
So, in 4 years, Boeing will offer the shittiest contact you have ever seen, and predictably, the union will vote it down. The union will strike.
The day after they go on strike in 4 years, Boeing will roll out politicians and big wigs and announce the next new model to be built in TX, or SC or anywhere but the west coast and Puget Sound.
And that guarantee you are signing, will have expired 24 hours earlier.
Bookmark this, vote it down if you like. But come back in 4 years to this page and witness the power of nostradamus.
They just put more lipstick on a pig. The next vote will fail.
Sorry OP about your job loss😔
The agreement, if accepted, keeps existing programs in Puget Sound as well as any new models. We may not see a new model within 4 years, who knows, but the white collar boys and Managers should thank the Machinists for keeping their jobs in the region.
Union complains "We need a 40% raise because we can't afford to live here and live paycheck to paycheck"
Also the union: You should safe for a strike so that we can wait out the company.
The math ain't mathin'
You can't "save" if you are spending every time to just live.
Rule number 1# The company is always right. Rule number 2# If the company is wrong, refer back to Rule number 1#
The people that are so concerned with us voting no again is all the non union employees. Management specifically. You don't scare us at all by using your scare tactics. It just makes us want to fight for our cause more. Sorry about your layoff. Maybe when you look for your next job you should make a Union choice.
15% have crossed
parking lots are filling up and picketing has dropped to where the bushes are holding the strike signs
But one day longer one day stronger
Wish in one hand po-p in the other there’s your pension.
Boeing will announce the 737 replacement built in Texas soon.
That wipes out Renton, Auburn, Frederickson, and Portland.
Everett will stay due to the Composite building.
Scabs aren't 15 percent. Quit spreading misinformation. I just looked at the payroll list and it's not even 1 percent. To electrical engineering guy, yes, you could have dropped out of college and joined Boeing. You made choices. That's what I did when Boeing recruited me just as I started college with their promise of guaranteed pension and free medical, but they bait and switched, so that's on me for taking their bait.
You guys dont understand how math works huh its 43% compounded according to union website on wage growth example
Its more than 38%, go back to school you id.io.ts
Boeing has to d-mb down the contract and explain to you guys like kids
Wow do I feel like an id--t for going to college. I’m an electrical engineer and these guys dwarf my compensation.
Go ahead and vote no wave your striking signs if you even go anymore to picket
Meanwhile Boeing will hire off the streets scab workers to start up the factory
Besides 15% of the union already went back to work as scabs snd they are federally protected now. The company does not need the greedy union.
Just like the pensions the union themselves voted away here you are voting away your jobs.
But hey 1 day longer 1 day stronger right.
We will never see the full 38% wage increase, our jobs will be gone by then. Im voting no, management are taking us for fools.
Why vote yes for a lousy 3% more in pay, the pension is worth way more. Boeing exec's are laughing at us and throwing us a bone. They can keep their pathetic wage increase, we will never see the full amount. By year two they will have sent our jobs out of state. Only a fool would vote yes.
Why? They just rejected the exact same offer except this time just 3 percent more wages spread out over 4 years. It will fail.
