I’d answer but I honestly cannot.
Anyone got a good manager? What are the kinds of things they do for their people?

now we have to follow that stupid jira align that everyone hates and adds much more useless work to everyone's plate. Nobody know who is a leader anymore.
I had a great ISG director (CP) but she left. Been a cr@p show in leadership ever since.
Most are only worried about themselves
My direct manager is useless.
Got me a Severance Package when I asked of one. Then got one for himself.
Decide not to pay me commission because I was making "too much". Best decision ever. I found another job immediately. A thief only needs to steal from me one time and I know to get away. Rotten to the core.
NOTHING
I like my direct manager quite a bit. She's as transparent about things as she can be, but no one tells her anything. She's as much a victim as everyone else on my team.
lower and middle management have little latitude to do much, so just start with those who are respectful, considerate, kind, thoughtful, engage, and supportive
No joke, my manager will make us meet over teams for our 1x1 when we’re 20 feet away from eachother. She “doesn’t have the time” to meet in person
Mine joined me in involuntary unemployment
Laid me off
I feel bad for our direct leaders. They are punching bags from above and below with zero power to do anything or make change. When the company makes asinine decisions they have to look foolish and just go with it.
He increased my bonus payout by a few $$m. Made my team a lot smaller (<100k) which has left meore time to focus on family and t-shirts. And also had two new offices built for me after the old ones were made into relaxation areas LOL!
My management is blind, stupid and careless. They stay out of our way and don’t rock the boat.
let me go.
My manager was kind to approve my longer holiday when asked and also release me for cooperation with other departments fo a few weeks.
Money wise since Covid and repeated Tell dell and 1 to 1 signals no increae in compenation despite massive cost of living increase. Also now there is a problem with overtimes so if it is for free they can help a bit.
I concur on survival and flip floping.
most managers are 'yes' men..just trying to please the level above them. I agree they are nice people but are in survival mode. I also see alot of flip flopping. Tell us one thing and then tell us the opposite soon after. If you're not guiding and leading your team, you're not a good manager.
My manager is a nice guy but total wu-s as a leader. He hasn’t really done anything for me - he’s in survival mode himself, but I don’t blame him for that really.
