At this point bp’s only hope is to be taken over by someone who knows how to run an energy company. Let’s just get this over with already.

Shell and BP joining would basically be doubling down, that's before considering the regulatory complexity. Doubt it'll happen.
Well, the rumor is that it’s Shell. Shell can’t run the show either - the exploration department is a total disaster there - like dumpster fire disaster.
