Are the layoffs over ?

October was a very small cut and it's gone really quiet

Are the layoffs over ? Is the RTO drama over ?

They will never be over until most Americans are homeless in this over crowding country, AI is doing most jobs, and CEOs are collecting on the bonus money the VPs would have gotten if they were not replaced by AIs as well. They will also be in high towers above the city laughing at all the people that did all the work to get them rich. Oh, we've been seeing Cylons and Terminators walking around the halls too. Wonder what that's all about...

"@ogl+1vfDzJ0O and people have been leaving ever since. That's what attrition means. Haha

Layoffs won't be over till they are under 100k employees. I heard the goal was 90k"

The goal is 80k employees....with the minority in N. America

There were layoffs every quarter for the 10 years I worked there. Every quarter - some small, some larger than others, but every quarter.

It will never be over. NEVER.

Think of it like a very very slow PC refresh where the workers are the out of warranty PCs.

It’s just part of the industry we’re in.

Never over at Dell, until the spreadsheet mentality of all management is over.

The place is run on spreadsheets and nothing else

Rolling layoffs continue - different BUs are in the crosshairs at different times. Reading the stars, I'd guess IT will be the focus on 11/8, but I have no direct info. If we're lucky December will be a break. I'm expecting a blood bath in Jan/Feb.

They are still waiting for more attrition from RTO what it looks like (they absolutely didn’t get the numbers they were hoping for, a sh-t job market will do that). Add onto that the ominous email waitin in the weeds for remote (hint: it’s going to say relocate to RTO or get out. I could see them trying to find a way to make it legal to not pay severance to those who refuse to move.) Guessing that drops after a town hall early Q4 because leadership are cowards. From there I would imagine there’s more layoffs. So Feb of 2025. They are going to try and make people miserable through the holidays and winter months. What a bunch of vampires right?
