Theyll temp you as long as possible.

I am an ex-Q laid off 10/2023. For my role, Q typically hired temps and after about 2 years convert them to full-time. To the contrary, I was hired full-time, but after a few years, all the people that originally hired me retired. My new boss seemed to be concerned why they hired me as a full-time employee and not a temp, and asked why I didn't work as a temp first. The new boss didn't value the work experience, technical skills, knowledge or higher education that I had acquired before I was hired at the Q. Ultimately, I was never given the opportunity to grow and only was assigned cr-ppy d-mb down tasks because I was not part of a larger clique who were mostly hired as temps and later converted to full time employees.
They'll probably keep you as a CWF (temp) worker. Been there, done that...
This is how they still hire during a layoff, A CWF is not counted in the headcount-- thus they can "lower" the headcount and still get the work done by "hiring" a temp. Along with abusing H1B laws, this is another way qcom games labor laws. Truly despicable. Anything to make a buck!
The criteria for being offered a FT position isn't about whether your team's project goals are met. Usually, it's about your performance coupled with whether your team has the ability to hire a FT person.
this is a layoff forum
It's a entry level position. Any insights would be helpful.
