As mentioned last week, 10% reduction in FIG globally. The only way to get relief is to get creative with contractors. Glad there is only four quarters because we would not make it to OT Coach...

10% in FIG so in my group, remotes were chosen over in office people even though the remotes were more qualified. Some managers found out who was chosen without their input- just so random remote workers chosen by upper managers.
If you are remote and in FIG, the countdown clock is on. Every quarter of 2025 will be more remotes and all remotes by 2026 will be gone.

Layoffs are very small and localized events so they can avoid media attention.

Back when they started in the late 90's, there would be reporters in the parking lot and a lot of attention.

It's now done in small events. Glad that I was given a package and took the kick out the door and found something way better.
