Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

A cocky, rude very discourteous person.

Direct FAIL in business relations. Pat Gelsinger's comments offended TSMC so TSMC said it would no longer honor the discount of 40% off of 3nm wafers. Intel had to pay full price

PG needs lesson on being discrete and humble, don't have to use your Mouth for what needs to stay in the Head.

He's weak in hiring - eg of his dud hires are CPO, CCO, and the various hires for TD/Fab.

Can you imagine if ARL and LNL were not built at TSMC. We would literally have no competitive client products to sell this year and all of next year.

intel4/3 would have been too slow for a client part in 2024/2025.
i20A/i18A are nowhere close to being production ready until 2026.

So if those deals had not been made with TSMC back in 2020, intel would literally be bankrupt today. The joker Pat was too arrogant to even realize this when he made fun of TSMC 3 years ago.

Pat has this fatal flaw of insulting competitors and claiming he will beat them when he has nothing... Àll that does is infuriate stronger players into showing no mercy to the boaster. better to walk softly and wow them with execution... Exact opposite of Pat's mode of operating.

As someone that walked away from this train wreck into a TSMC position.
You can't understand how far intel is behind until you peak behind the curtain of a company firing on all cylinders.

Pat made a fundamental mistake and assume Intel was in a position of strength still not a good idea to insult vendors or customers they remember arrogance and get revenge

Silly Intel managements, from CEO to 3 levels VP and GM down, all are non-professional. Intel people are concealed in its own box and do not know how far behind Intel is.

Yeah that’s the trouble Intel and Intel’s fortunes are tied to Pat right now. If only we could put him in the rear view mirror

Morris Chang set the goal for TSMC years ago for quality and reliability . Two things Intel don't care about at all.

Maybe that was planned
Wanted to force Intel ti use their fabs

If it’s too good and cheap at tsmc then there is no reason for Intel design teams to use Intel fab

Intel can’t even compete internal and needs to make tsmc more expensive

For those you you who still don't get it: Imagine your having dinner at a business acquaintances house and a neighbor asks you about your relationship with your business partner and you make the statement "You don't want all of your eggs in the basket". What an A--Hole!

“You don't want all of your eggs in the basket of a Taiwan fab,” he said in May 2021

Not unreasonable at all. If that offended them, then they are not reliable from a personal perspective either.

And that right there is a perfect example of the cocky reputation intel has. And as time has shown it’s unwarranted. It’s why rest of the industry is taking pleasure in our fall from the top

Ah yes, the "loud mouth id--t" surcharge. It makes a lot of sense, plenty of businesses give discounts to favorite customers, and "sneezers" to rude "Karins." I guess PG got a sneezer special since he's such a Karin.
