Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anybody having a positive experience with job search?

I’ve been trying for a while. Crickets. Well, not exactly, but a couple of offers that I was presented with were really bad. As in cheap and bad. I’m afraid that offshoring is ki-ling us so much that we can hardly hope for any decent recovery of the tech jobs market. Not AI, just offshoring. I hope I’m wrong.

"For coding interview, you need to study the Leetcode questions (Data structure and Algorithm). Solve the most 150 popular questions. Once you pass the coding interview, the rest would be much easier. I think you need to spend at least 8 weeks to crack those questions . Solve simple questions first - Array, strings, dynamic programming, etc.. Hope, this helps."

Found the Indian.

Look for jobs in industries other than tech - financial, healthcare, biomanufacturing, real estate, government, agriculture, etc.. It's end of year. Good time to network, do info interviews, practice your interviewing skills, etc. Redo variations of your resume.

The new CEO over hired by 30,000 and now we will pay the price. I hope you all squirreled away 6-9 months emergency reserves and when that runs out you can Uber and Door Dash for a while.

No one hires EOY. That is when they fire everyone trying to cause as much pain over the holidays.
February is when they realized they fired too many and begin rehiring so they have enough people for EOY fun again.

In general, this is a slow time of year for hiring. Add in the uncertainty of what the election outcome will be and most companies will wait it out. I am expecting the economy to tank or at least correct regardless of who wins the election. You may hear crickets for a while. Good luck!
