Heard a rumor that all operation in Canada has been shut down or different divisions have been closed. Has there been more changes going on between the different divisions up there? Anyone heard anything similar?

Drilling Services had exited Canada before, in March 2020, and laid off most in the office and the shop, however keeping their shop in Leduc "functional".
They made a U-turn a few weeks later bringing back drilling services to operate in Western Canada.
Now another U-turn and shutdown.
They're like the kid who cried wolf.
My take is that most of Canada's oil /gas drilling is onshore not offshore. BH used to have some offshore drilling work in Newfoundland and not much else.
When I used to work there, looking in MaPS activity reports I don’t remember seeing a lot of activity in Canada the last few years except for the one XOM ECC job.
Oh well, they keep electing Trudeau so he will provide for whoever he doesn’t put in jail for disagreeing with him.
As usual just an email stating drilling is exiting the region. No town hall for Canada but hopefully the drilling group had something. Not optimistic though since communication in this company is horrid.
Anyone here know what’s going on in Canada or you don’t get told anything? No town halls, no notices, completely in the dark?
How much will it cost to shut down Canada ops, lay everyone off and move assets out to other locations? It must have cost GE a huge pile to shutdown Aberdeen office so it’s expensive. What a mess,
Merger preparations me thinks.
Baker have given up on drilling services in most regions of North America. Their focus is on the Gulf and Permian.
So Baker Hughes is fading away.
Canadian drilling environment is harsh. You need people who know what they’re doing. Looks like going the same way as Aberdeen Scotland where poor experience and bad management lost everything.
No more Canadian drilling going on?
Drilling services is exiting Canada.
