Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Laid off on maternity leave?

I’m currently on maternity leave and saw my name on an org chart with a new manager, however when I ask questions about it I’m being told I’ll find out when I get back. (Which is this year but after November 15)

Wondering if my role is actually a CPM when I get back? Why would they put me on an org chart…

If you do write a LinkedIn post about it and make your story go viral. Just like people at Twitter and Google have done in the past. Call out the managers that made this call - their reputation will be soured. Tell a reporter to publish your story

I did reach out to HR!

Also at the same time intel has a 3rd party offering me training called “parantaly” for 3 months on integrating back into the workforce so I find it ironic if I am being CPM

They obviously did make the calls if they told her she’d find out when she gets back…

Why wouldn’t you make the proper phone calls and find out? Either you are a troll, or actually deserve to get the axe.

I actually never asked if I was protected just ask why they would move me to an org chart pretending I have a new role if I’m just going to get CPM when I get back

There is a lot of stupidity here. Nothing protects you from being laid off. It is performance based.

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if your on maternity leave or if you dearly need medical benefits because you have a very sick child (I know someone in this circumstance)

Ask a teammate to look your manager up on teams

Is your manager still with the company? Is it possible you have a new manager because your manager took a package or was ISP?

How many employees take maternity/bonding leave? Why other tech companies also have it a none are struggling?

Are there 100+ people under your manager? If yes, this is likely CPM.

Congratulation on the new addition to your family! Enjoy the remaining time off.

Start applying for jobs. It will take a while to find one so it will give you a head start. If you find a new job but didn't get CPM/ISP you will have a choice. In any case, you should be looking for an exit. This company is in serious trouble. If it recovers it won't be the same place it used to be. At best, for the next few years it will be a difficult place to work.

So women in tech with advanced degrees are supposed to just not work or get pushed out of the workforce for deciding to have a kid? Why should that be considered being a “grifter”

Seems like intel has more of a problem of Misogyny if you work there and posted that comment
