If it's mostly contractors, management won't be needed. Op centers and inspectors will be running the company.

This sounds like someone that thinks they have a clue but clearly has none. Likely, you’re a 2nd level or Director that’s never actually done the job. No need to worry about what the company will do. It’s very likely you will never make it to Verizon. They don’t keep incompetent middle managers. I figure about 70% of middle management will not make it if it’s anything like it used to be. Oh but you probably don’t know that since you no doubt were hired on with Frontier from whatever cable company you came from.
