I’ve been watching this site for a long time now. What I find informative are the posts that are heckled at as a half truth troll post and when you fast forward months maybe even longer and it unfolds as exactly as it was posted.
Many of the seemingly negative posts unfold as a “truthful” post.
Either way, I find it all inspirational to motivate me to leave. So in that, its a good thing.
Post ID: @scc+1vaCn6en As other posters already opined, Citi is rubbing the magic AI lamp hoping and wishing for the AI Genie to come out of the magic lamp or the computer monitors to Fix All of Citi's regulatory (Consent Orders, MRIAs, MRAs, etc), technological and operational problems. AI is currently light years away from where Citi and other companies need it to be. Citi is hoping and wishing AI and other new technologies will make its problems magically go away by 2026 ! ROTFLMFAO!
Anyone who reads history will see parallels and a metaphor to when the nascent computer industry began around the 1950s. A PC desktop computer today would have been several mainframe computers occupying several rooms in a house if Not the entire house itself or several houses!
They are looking for ways to run people off so as to NOT pay severance.
It's a brutal job market out there so I don't recommend anyone leaving a job right now. Hold on and collect your severance package!
There are many budget cut discussions happening at the management level. That's why a lot of projects for next year are not finalized. Budget cuts = people cuts. Don't be fooled by the corporate chatter on how we beat earnings and are "One Citi." Anyone who is able should leave the sinking ship.
There is an ongoing effort at Citi to replace workers with AI tools. This week, our team was asked to document applications for the AI tool. Management thinks very little of workers if believe that an AI tool that needs people to create and maintain the knowledge base can ‘think’ and discern like humans do. AI capability right now is like another glorified search engine.
